CFL: Calgary At Saskatchewan Postponed To July 12 At 2 P.M. Local/ 4 P.M. ET

Air quality concerns force postponement

Due to air quality concerns, the Canadian Football League (CFL) game between the Calgary Stampeders and the Saskatchewan Roughriders on July 11 has been postponed to Saturday, July 12 at 2 p.m. local/4 p.m. ET. The decision was made by the CFL League Office, the competing teams and the CFL Players’ Association.

The game was originally scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. local/9 p.m. ET, before being delayed. In order for players to take the field, the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI+) must be seven or below. The index failed to reach the threshold needed to safely commence the game.

Tickets for the postponed game will be valid for the make-up game.

  • July 12 | CGY at SSK | 4 p.m. ET
  • July 12 | OTT at HAM | 7 p.m. ET
  • July 13 | BC at EDM | 7 p.m. ET

Calgary Stampeders Week 1 Recap: Breaking Down What Still Needs Work

Just because the Calgary Stampeders won in week one, it doesn’t mean they don’t have things to work on.  Sometimes wins can hide issues. Good teams don’t let that happen; they continue to improve, regardless of the results.  Here are some of the week 1 mistakes that Calgary needs to improve if they want to enjoy a successful season. Offense Scoring 38 points and winning is obviously not a bad game. But the Calgary Stampeders’ offense wasn’t perfect. There is still plenty of room for improvement.  The biggest issue was turnovers. Vernon Adams Jr. threw two interceptions. Adams had an overall good day (19/28 for 284 yards), but he will need to take care of the ball better in the future.  The Stampeders also had a turnover on downs on a failed QB sneak attempt by P.J. In a matchup between the CFL’s last two Grey Cup Champions. The Toronto Argonauts fell to the Montreal Alouettes 28-10 in their season-opening game at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, marking their first opening-weekend loss under head coach Ryan Dinwiddie. Week 2 of the 2025 CFL Season sees the defending Grey Cup Champion Toronto Argonauts kick off their home schedule at BMO Field against the Calgary Stampeders .
