Defensive lineman has taken full responsibility for wagering on CFL games The Canadian Football League (CFL) has reinstated free agent defensive lineman Shawn Lemon with specific conditions. Any future violations of the CFL Match Manipulation Policy will result in a lifetime ban. He is now eligible to sign with any team. “Protecting the integrity of the play on the field is of the utmost importance and we will not tolerate players violating the CFL’s Match Manipulation Policy. Mr. Lemon’s suspension, which was the longest in league history, was necessary and appropriate,” said CFL Commissioner Stewart Johnston. “He has taken full responsibility for his actions. He understands how wagering negatively impacts sports and has re-educated himself on league policy. After starting 2025 with back-to-back losses, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats have come back from their Week 3 bye week with three straight wins. The Calgary Stampeders might just have a future star on their hands in rookie Damien Alford. Alford played sparingly in the first couple of games, but in just his first start, he established himself as one of Vernon Adams Jr.’s favorite targets. It was a small week in regards to scheduled games played for week 6 of the 2025 CFL schedule. Three games were planned, consisting of Calgary in Saskatchewan, Ottawa in Hamilton, and B.C. in Edmonton. We also had a game postponed due to poor air quality in Regina, Saskatchewan.
